Southern Baja Cape Overlanding Adventure
April 18-23
We call this trip Almost an Island because we will be exploring the Sierra de la Laguna and the rugged coastline at the very southern tip of the Baja Peninsula.
There is a reason nearly ninety percent of visitors to this region fly in and never go anywhere once they land. It takes roughly twenty hours to drive here from the border, and most people solve that problem by checking into an all-inclusive resort and staying put. Fair enough. But it also means most of Southern Baja might as well be an island.
This six-day, off-the-pavement expedition starts and ends in Cabo and takes you far beyond the resort zone. Traveling through remote sierras, turquoise waters, and rugged coastlines, this all-inclusive journey is designed for those who want real overland travel without sacrificing comfort. Expect challenging terrain, chef-driven meals, and long days exploring places most visitors never see.
Flying in and pairing that with a properly equipped four-wheel-drive overland rig opens access to one of the least explored regions in Southern Baja. Quiet backcountry, dramatic coastlines, and landscapes that exist well beyond the infinity pool.
October is a transition month. The water is still warm, the air temperatures finally begin to ease, and conditions are ideal for exploring both the mountains and the coast. It is one of the best times of year to experience the very best of Southern Baja.
Mountain Majesty
Spend two nights deep in the sierras north of La Paz—exploring canyons, ranch trails, and historic sites far from pavement and crowds.
Coastal Cruising
Follow off-road tracks from the East Cape to the Pacific, with time to explore remote beaches and tide-swept cliffs as you loop west.
Snorkeling the Sea of Cortez
Swim and snorkel in the warm waters near Cabo Pulmo or other East Cape coves, where coral reefs and marine life flourish.
Sierra de la Laguna Escape
Wrap up your journey with a final night under the stars in the Sierra de la Laguna—one of Baja’s most stunning and diverse mountain ecosystems.
Epic Cuisine
Enjoy three freshly prepared meals per day by our camp chef, featuring the bold, seasonal flavors of Baja California Sur.
Starry Skies & Remote Camps
Camp in pristine, handpicked locations—whether under desert skies, beside mountain springs, or overlooking the Pacific.
Forget the logistics—we handle it all. From guiding your rig off the grid to preparing gourmet meals, our team ensures a seamless, full-service expedition from start to finish. Bring your sense of adventure, and we’ll handle the rest.
This is the Southern Cape like you’ve never seen it: wild, quiet, and full of stories. Join us and discover the backroads and hidden corners of Baja California Sur—where legends are made, not born.

We kick off in Cabo and head out along the East Cape, navigating off-road trails along remote beaches and fishing villages. We’ll camp near Cabo Pulmo, with dinner prepared by our chef.
After a morning snorkel in the Sea of Cortez, we head north into the sierras above La Paz. We’ll explore these lesser-known mountains and camp under the stars.
We move on to the Sierra de la Laguna for some high-country exploration. Hike through oak and pine forests and enjoy another chef-driven meal at our mountain campsite.
We head west to the Pacific coast, navigating rugged trails along the shoreline north of Todos Santos. We’ll camp with ocean views and enjoy the coastal scenery.
We’ll make our way south, continuing to avoid pavement, and revisit some East Cape routes before circling back toward Cabo. We’ll camp one last night under the Baja sky.
We wrap up back in Cabo with a leisurely morning, a chance to relax or explore the town, and then say our farewells after an epic six-day off-road adventure.
